Friday Night, July 22 2005, at the ROCK
STAR gallery in Scottsdale, The Primate Fiasco performed
at the Local Artist Exhibit. Arizona photographer, James
Schoepflin, was displaying a photograph of the famous blues
drummer
Chico Chism and happened to have Chico there to sign autographs.
Lucky for The Primate Fiasco, we brought with us a spare
tambourine which Chico put to good use. Despite Chico's poor health
(the guy has been playing for about 200 years), he fit right in
and jammed on "Sweet Georgia Brown" like no other
tambourine player could. The band was honored.
UPDATE
2/07: The sad news has reached us that Chico has moved
on to the great gig in the sky whre I'm sure he's giving God a drum
lesson as we speak. The blues community will miss you chico.
