Steven
Yarbro earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Saxophone Performance
from
Indiana University at Bloomington where his principle
studies were with the world-renowned pedagogue and performer
Eugene
Rousseau. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Saxophone
Performance from Arizona State University where he studied
under Professor Joseph Wytko.
Yarbro’s
performance experiences include tours of the Midwest United
States and Japan with the Indiana University Wind
Ensemble, appearances in feature performances with the Phoenix
Symphony Orchestra and the Tempe Symphony Orchestra, a performance
at the 2003 World Saxophone Congress hosted by the University
of Minnesota - Twin Cities, and he has performed with the
Arizona State University Concert Jazz Band as a featured soloist.
Among his scholastic honors are the Herbert Smith Graduate
Fellowship at Arizona State University, the Indiana University
School of Music Faculty Honors Scholarship, and the Arizona
State University Graduate Tuition Fellowship award.
Currently Mr. Yarbro is pursuing a doctoral degree in saxophone
performance at Arizona State University. |
